As a ministry leader you are responsible for keeping the web presence of your ministry up to date, accurate, and in line with the vision of Petersville Baptist Church. In order for you to be able to fully do so, it is very important that you understand how to utilize the various web tools at your disposal. Since Petersville Baptist Church is a non-profit charitable organization, Google has partnered with us and provided a Google for non-profits account. With this account each ministry now has access to all of Google’s web apps and services that typically would cost an organization hundreds of dollars. When ministry has been identified as needing a webpage, the following steps are performed:
- A blog page with the name of the ministry is created.
- The ministry leader is identified and their email address, and any other contact information they would like to provide, is submitted to the media team via email.
- A user account is created on the website so the ministry leader can email updates to their ministries blog via email.
- A Google account is created for the ministry in the format ministryname@pbc-ministries.org
- The Google account comes with a Gmail account for the ministry; a Google+ page; a Youtube page; Google Calendar; Google Documents; and a host of other apps that can be utilized to enhance the ministries online presence.
- The ministry leader will be provided with the username and password to the Google account, and the Gmail account will be pre-configured with a signature block, as well as setup to forward all incoming emails to the ministry leaders personal email, or a groups email if the leader chose this option; otherwise in order to check the emails for the ministry the leader will have to log into the Gmail account manually.
- Once all of the above has been completed, the ministry leader will be asked to provide a current photo, a bio, and their official title; so they can be added to the church leaders directory on the website.
All ministry blogs, and Google accounts are maintained and monitored by the PBC Media Team. If you ever have a need for support, need to request access to a particular Google app, or need to submit information needed to setup the initial ministry accounts.
