Homecoming

August 2, 2020

Dear PBC Family,

Greetings in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! What a blessing and privilege it is to be anchored in the unfailing promises of God our Father!

Year 2020 thus far has undoubtedly been a year of many challenges, hardships, disappointments and uncertainties. No, it hasn’t been easy to watch the lives of our loved ones, close friends and acquaintances slip away due to COVID-19. Our hearts and prayers go out to those who have endured the unnecessary loss of lives because of hatred and racism. We’re living in a time when our nation has little or no regard for “Liberty and Justice for All”.

In spite of all that is going on in this world, God Almighty, Sovereign and Everlasting Father is still in control. Our God sits high, yet looks low. He knows the way that each one of us takes. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord will deliver us out of them all – Psalms 34:19. We can do all things through Christ which strengthens us – Philippians 4:13

Scripture clearly tells us that in the last days, perilous times shall come. The signs of the times are unfolding before our very eyes every day. Jesus said, “When these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh” Luke 21:28. The Apostle Paul reminds us that we must endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

As children of the Almighty God, we are so blessed that we can cast all of our cares and burdens upon the Lord, for he cares for us. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy will come in the morning. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Never despair or allow your faith to waiver. Let us continue to look to the hills from whence comes our help; all of our help comes from the Lord. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. The joy of the Lord will continue to be our strength. Remember, we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. Christ in us is the Hope of Glory!

Yours in Christ,
