Biography

Cynthia Bolden, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is the eldest of five siblings. Her formal education is in Business Administration.

Cynthia accepted Christ as her personal savior at the early age of 14 and joined the Deliverance Evangelistic Church in Philadelphia, and was schooled under the ministry of the late Pastor Benjamin Smith, Sr. At such a young age, she was instrumental in inviting her parents to church and they received Christ as well. At age 16, on a certain day at the Deliverance Evangelistic Church, she was introduced to the love of her life, Ollie Bolden. In 1970, the two were joined together in holy matrimony by Pastor Smith. They are blessed with three children, Michael, Curtis and Lakita; three grandchildren, D’Yonna, D’Kiah and MiKeira.

In 2003, Cynthia was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She is affectionately known as “First Lady,” and serves with Pastor Bolden as Co-Pastor of the Petersville Baptist Church in New Canton, Virginia. Together they are a team, diligently working to minister to the needs of the people.

Additionally, Cynthia is the Administrative Director of the following Petersville Baptist Church Ministries: Book Club, Choirs, Computer Classes, Debutantes, Hospitality, Library, Music, Public Relations, Prayer Warriors, Vessels of Praise, Women’s and Young People’s Ministries.

Cynthia enjoys working in her flower garden. The many beautiful flowers and sweet smelling roses remind her to give thanks and praise to God, because no one but God can create such an array of colors and beauty. Cynthia is also known for her creative skill in home decorating. She takes pride in making her house a home, not only for her family, but extends a warm heartfelt welcome to all who enter. Lastly, she enjoys preparing and serving delicious meals to family and friends.

Above all, Cynthia loves the Lord Jesus with all of her heart. She is a blessed role model to the women at Petersville Baptist Church and to the community of what it really means to be a “Proverbs 31 Woman”. To God be all Glory, Honor and Dominion!
